Welcome to 5th Grade Band!
Mrs. Maureen Cannon serves as the fifth grade band director for all elementary schools in the Caesar Rodney School District (with the exception of Welch Elementary). At the present time, all beginner band students at Brown Elementary receive a half-hour lesson every Thursday. During this lesson, students learn about instrument care, sight reading music, musical scales, and rhythm. You'll be amazed by the vast skills your child will gain while learning to play a musical instrument! The "spring finale" (which encompasses the fifth grade band students from Brown, Simpson, Stokes, Frear, and Star Hill) will be held in May at Caesar Rodney High School. The concert will serve as a proud culmination of each novice musician's first year of musical instruction.
